Founding Values
Our founders were brought together by mutual professional respect and a shared vision of changing the poor state of the software development craft. The result is an organization dedicated to delivering premium custom software created with care.Integrity
We see Integrity as consistent expression of honesty, respect, and fairness.Honesty is the cornerstone quality upon which we build our professional lives. Our expression of honesty is being fully transparent in all relationships. This ensures our clients and partners are aware of all relevant options available to them, and potential outcomes.
Respect is our freely giving of positive professional regard. Your needs and ideas will be heard respectfully. Guild 3 Craftsmen have all worked in stereotypical Information Technology organizations where respectful behavior was often neglected or absent. It is our desire everyone we encounter feels better for the experience.
Fairness is best demonstrated by finding the ideal way to work with your organization rewarding our work with fair pay, and your money with fair work. This isn’t always as simple as trading time for money. Often the fairest way to do business is by sharing risk and reward.
Honoring commitments is vital to our business, and software from Guild 3 will be delivered on time and with no known defects.
Agility
Agility is not a software development process. It is a way of conducting business and enabling our clients to shift priorities and embrace their changing business environments. We believe Agility is doing what makes practical sense to deliver the highest value to clients. We have practical and academic experience in many agile software development methodologies. Our strong preference is for Lean approaches such as Kanaban, which focus on providing a steady flow of value to our clients. Our idea of agility surpasses the methodology of the day, and focuses on achieving just enough ceremony in meetings, process, and documentation to ensure the right problem is solved with the right software. We maintain practices consistent with the values expressed in the Manifesto for Agile Software Development, including frequent delivery of our work and constant inspection of work in progress.Craftsmanship
We pay attention to both form and function, while applying technology appropriately. Guild 3 does not provide “bodies” or “resources” to clients, but professional software developers who will listen to your needs and make judicious recommendations. Our professional software Craftsmen demonstrate a passion for creating software. Each has a track record of constant learning and improvement in their own pursuit of mastery. This attention to the craft of software creation is the underpinning of our collective value to your organization. Our founders were drawn together by their shared passion to improve the state of the software development industry. The principles at Guild 3 actively participate in teaching and mentoring, acting as stewards of the software development craft.Community
Guild 3 Craftsmen are found actively participating at various Code Camps, conferences, user groups, professional organizations, and other community events. We believe the best way to drive appreciation for our craft is by teaching, learning, and sharing experiences with others. Like our collaborative customer relationships, our associations with other software development professionals ensures we are even more capable than the sum of our parts.
